About

Ninja Dragging the Low Taper Fade Meme refers to a series of TikTok videos making fun of streamer Ninja for still referencing the Imagine If Ninja Got a Low Taper Fade meme months after its virality. TikTokers made edits and memes that showed Ninja dragging the meme years into the future. Increasingly absurd iterations surfaced, like ones of Ninja as a baby or as different animals in different lifetimes. The memes used a copypasta from a video where Ninja sings "Low taper fade" and then says, "You know what’s crazy? Is that that low taper fade meme is like- Dude, it is still massive." Meme creators made AI voice parodies with the copypasta.

Origin

On January 30th, 2024, TikToker[1] @oblivioncactus posted a clip from a then-recent Ninja stream with text overlay saying, "Ninja is dragging the low taper fade at this point." In the clip, Ninja sings "low taper fade" and then claims that the meme "is still massive." Over four months, the video received roughly 4.3 million plays and 315,300 likes (shown below).

Low taper fade. You know what’s crazy? Is that that low taper fade meme is like- Dude, it is still massive. Massive. I mean I’ve seen new ones that I’ve never seen before that have like millions of likes and views still that are like popping off all over the place.

On April 28th, 2024, TikToker[2] @iitiborr reposted @oblivioncactus's TikTok,[1] gaining over 1.8 million plays and 164,900 likes in eight days.
