Nick Eh 30 "You're the King? I'm the King!" refers to a viral clip of Fortnite streamer Nick Eh 30 (NickEh30) in which he's doing a Transformers role play with other players who he gets mad at when they mess up. The clip, in which Nick Eh 30 is playing Optimus Prime, went viral on TikTok and YouTube in June 2023, gaining traction due to Nick Eh 30's commitment to the role play being perceived as cringe. The memes and videos made about it reflected this, such as one that said, "Blud thinks he's a movie director."

Origin

On June 20th, 2023, TikToker^[1] @mota_edits posted a clip from Nick Eh 30's recent live stream in which he was doing a Transofrmers role play with other players. He was playing the role of Optimus Prime and exclaimed once he reached the top of a stair set, "Wait, you're the king? I'm the king!" He then proceeded to scold the players in the background who appeared to soon, not waiting for him to say, "You and what army?" TikToker^[1] @mota_edits captioned the video, "Blud thinks he's a movie director," and over the course of 13 days, the video gained roughly 11.8 million plays and 1.4 million likes (shown below).

During Nick Eh 30's stream, he was eventually successful in completing the role play, and used the finished clip for the intro of his YouTube^[2] video uploaded on June 21st, 2023 (shown below).

After the video went viral on TikTok,^[1] the role play clips from Nick Eh 30's stream continued to gain traction by TikTokers who labeled them as cringe. For instance, on June 21st, 2023, TikToker^[3] @superduperclips proclaimed that he was taking the role plays too seriously in a video that received roughly 1.2 million plays and 135,500 likes in 12 days (shown below, left). Other streamers also started to react to the clip. For instance, on June 22nd, 2023, TikToker^[4] @moreclixtv posted a video of streamer Clix reacting to the clip, gaining roughly 7.4 million plays and 672,700 likes in 11 days (shown below, right).

The video eventually led to real-life recreations of the role play which essentially made fun of it further. For instance, on June 23rd, 2023, TikToker^[5] @phillipsnotfunny posted a video of he and his friends recreating it, gaining roughly 2.2 million plays and 444,500 likes in 11 days (shown below).

On June 22nd, 2023, TikToker^[6] @fn.clipsz2 posted a video of Nick Eh 30 himself reacting to the "You're the King? I'm the King!" clip, calling himself cringy. The video gained roughly 1.1 million plays and 115,700 likes in 11 days (shown below).

On June 26th, 2023, Nick Eh 30 wrote on Twitter,^[7] "I’m the king!!" gaining roughly 10,600 likes in one week (shown below, left). He continued to be self-effacing in a second tweet^[8] posted on June 30th, 2023, reading, "I don't wanna be the king anymore," gaining roughly 31,400 likes in three days (shown below, right).
