About
The Netflix "My Best Day" Trend is a Photoshop and filter trend in which a video, piece of artwork or scene is inserted into a preview screen for a non-existent Netflix Original Series titled "My Best Day." The trend started in June 2024 on sites including TikTok, Instagram and X / Twitter, with users on TikTok mostly using "My Best Day" Snapchat and Instagram filters to insert videos, often depicting the uploader's "best day," into the preview screen while users on the latter mostly photoshopped or drew images into the preview screen.
Origin
On June 8th, 2024, Instagram users began uploading images of themselves edited into a mock Netflix homepage preview screen for a non-existent series titled "My Best Day." The images are likely achieved using one of several Snapchat[1][2] Lens filters, such as the "My Best Day Upload Lens" by Yajan or "My Best Day Filter" by Mr. Bunty.
That day, at least three Instagram[3][4][5] users uploaded edits of themselves using the filter, including boss_3088_ (shown below, left), zojokes and thecomicsingh (shown below, right).
Spread
The trend continued to spread over the following days on Instagram, X and TikTok. On TikTok,[6] the filter is often used to place a video in the preview screen (example shown below).
On June 12th, 2024, X[7] user @shinon_0610 posted a version of the meme photoshopping herself into the preview screen, garnering over 1,000 likes in a day (shown below, left). On the same day, X[8] user @_140dB posted a version of the meme photoshopping anime artwork into the filter, garnering over 6,600 likes in a day (shown below, right).
