Navaeh Laughing GIF refers to a reaction GIF featuring a Black woman wearing a light brown "Essentials Fear of God" hoodie, shaking her hair freshly cut into a bob and her edges laid. The video was originally posted to Instagram in November 2023 by the hairdresser @zeehiveexperience, who tagged the woman as "Navaeh." The clip came to be used as a Stan Twitter reaction and GIF caption meme to signal amusement or dry mirth over the following months. In late October 2025, South African singer Tyla recreated the GIF for Halloween.

On November 14th, 2023, the Instagram[1] page @zeehiveexperience posted a video showing a short Black woman showing off her new bob cut and laid edges. The woman sported some unique facial features and was wearing an Essentials hoodie as she shook her bob and dropped her head to laugh. The video gathered over 23 million views and 600,000 likes in two years.



A GIF version of the video was reposted to Tenor[2] by user TOXIQUENEY on November 28th, 2025.

On June 14th, 2024, TikToker[3] @sylusfx tweeted an edit featuring Navaeh, referring to her as a "Bonquisha," and gathering over 470,000 views and 100,000 likes in a year.

On December 11th, 2024, TikToker[4] @ijboliana posted a video edit featuring Navaeh as well, gathering over 380,000 plays and 39,000 likes a year.

The video also became a prevalent reaction meme on Twitter / X,[5] as seen in an April 1st, 2025, post by X user @ctrlalfonso that gathered over 2,000 likes in six months.


On June 28th, 2025, X[6] user @artemxcx tweeted, "NOT THE FAKE SILICONE ABS LMAO," alongside a GIF of Naveh laughing, edited to show someone shooting a rifle, gathering over 6,000 likes in four months.


Tyla's 'Navaeh Laughing GIF' Halloween Costume

On November 1st, 2025, South African singer Tyla posted a GIF to her Twitter/X[7] account @Tyllaaaaaaa, recreating the Navaeh Laughing GIF and gathering over 350,000 likes in a day.


Also on November 1st, X[8] user @kairoyaltyy tweeted, "we will be using both from now on," alongside a composite video featuring both Navaeh and Tyla. The post gathered over 17,000 likes in a day.
