My Plane Crashed In Jamaica, My Bitch Don't Need Makeup refers to lyrics from the rap song "Draco Remix" by Kahleation that went viral because of a 2024 TikTok trend in which women used photo slideshows to show themselves with and without makeup. One TikToker purportedly named inmewetrust0 posted a video with the trend in which she wrote Y'all Do Need Makeup to criticize the women. The TikToker received backlash for her "Y'all Do Need Makeup" video thereafter.

On May 4th, 2024, rapper Kahleation posted the song "Draco Remix" to his SoundCloud, ^[1] amassing over 84,100 listens and 3,200 likes in three months (shown below). The first bar in the song is, "My plane crashed in Jamaica. My bitch don't need makeup."

On June 27th, 2024, TikToker^[2] @owenswag5 posted a Kevin Gates, Rick Ross and Mike Epps Emotes edit with the song, gaining over 1.1 million plays and 250,200 likes in 12 days (shown below).

The video started a TikTok sound^[3] that was used by others, spawning the "My Bitch Don't Need Makeup" slideshow trend. The person who started the trend was TikToker^[4] @imnot._nyla on June 29th, 2024, whose slideshow received roughly 597,200 plays and 90,500 likes in 10 days.

The trend continued going into July 2024, evident in a video posted by TikToker^[5] @ch0colatedr0pp on July 5th, in which she lip dubbed the lyrics, gaining over 484,300 plays and 79,200 likes in four days (shown below).

Y'all Do Need Makeup

Sometime on or before July 5th, 2024, TikToker @msstaytrolling (formerly @inmewetrust0) posted a video (since-deleted) in which she said that the women following the trend needed makeup, purportedly writing, "Y'all do need makeup."

Although it was later deleted, the video received viral reactions, like one shared by TikToker^[6] @whoislailag on July 6th, 2024, who wrote, "me seeing the 'yall do need makeup' girls video & the cmts saying 'thankyou for giving us an example,'" gaining over 3 million plays and 519,600 likes in three days (shown below).

On July 5th, TikToker^[7] @msstaytrolling posted a video in which she retracted her prior statement, writing, "Me when I see ppl under this trend and they actually unique without the makeup," gaining over 1.3 million plays and 111,400 likes in four days (shown below).
