"My Nouns? Adjective" Title Parodies refers to a series of tweets that rearrange the titles of popular pieces of media, usually books and movies, into a snowclone reading "My X? Y" (for example, "My Heights? Wuthering"). The format grew popular on Twitter in July of 2020.

Origin

On December 27th, 2019, Twitter user @jpbrammer[1] tweeted "my Heights? Wuthering!!", gaining over 570 retweets and 3,400 likes (shown below). He tweeted it again on July 21st, 2020,[2] setting off a chain of Twitter users making similar tweets with other book titles. The tweet has since been deleted.


Spread

Following @jpbrammer's July 21st, tweet, many other Twitter users posted variations of titles in the "my noun? adjective" format. Some popular examples include a tweet by @brookobie[3] that read, "My gems? Uncut," gaining over 420 retweets and 2,300 likes (shown below, left), and a tweet by user @Faith_Salie[4] reading "My sense? Sixth," gaining over 150 retweets and 730 likes (shown below, right).


Twitter user @SAME0LMISTAKE[5] gained over 3,200 retweets and 14,000 likes screenshotting a tweet where someone misunderstood the meme, typing "My hole? Open" (shown below).
