About
My Name Is Bella Hadid is a catchphrase and lip dub trend on TikTok in which people pretend that they are Bella Hadid. This is often done by either walking in a way similar to the model or dressing in clothes and emulating a model when being serious. For comical effect, people often use the sound to pretend that other things are Bella Hadid for looking "long and lanky" or themselves being obviously not models but pretending to be her.
Origin
The sound bite used in the viral audio meme originally comes from an interview that Bella Hadid had done with i-D, which was uploaded to their official YouTube channel[1] on September 9th, 2022, with her saying the phrase in the first 10 seconds of the video that was viewed over 820,000 times in six months (shown below).
This sound was then put to the background of a compilation of different style outfits that Hadid had previously worn and uploaded to TikTok by the TikToker _dudareb[2] on September 15th, 2022, introducing the sound to the platform and gaining over 420,000 likes in six months in the process (shown below).
Spread
TikTokers on the platform started to make jokes about themselves being Bella Hadid quickly after the sound started to go viral in late 2022. These jokes often revolved around either wearing clothes similar to Hadid or talking about her salad, which was a recipe that Bella Hadid had talked about as being her "favorite" and having people make or eat the salad and pretend to be as pretty as her.
One such example of this is seen in the TikTok by PaigeLindgreen[3] on October 17th, 2022, in which she claims she made the salad and instantly was called the prettiest girl on earth, earning over 2 million likes in four months (shown below).
The most liked TikTok using the sound was part of the second wave uses for it, with people pretending that other things were Bella Hadid because they were skinny or looked like her. On November 30th, 2022, TikToker vanderson211[4] uploaded a TikTok in which she pretended her Christmas tree was Hadid, earning over 2.8 million likes in one month (shown below).
