My Loot Drop refers to a social game which grew popular on Twitter in September of 2020. In the game, people post four pictures representing the type of loot that would become available if they were a slain NPC in a video game. The items are generally four things that a person considers important to their identity.
Origin
On September 15th, 2020, Twitter user @DandyMcStebb[1] posted a prompt asking Twitter users to post four pictures representing the items they would drop if they were an NPC that was killed in a video game (shown below). The tweet gained over 350 quote-tweets and began a lengthy chain of quote tweets as people got involved with the game.
Spread
The game continued to spread through Twitter over the following two days. Popular examples of the joke include a tweet[2] by Matt McMuscles that gained over 690 likes and 110 quote-tweets (shown below, left) and a tweet by @jpbrammer[3] that gained over 690 likes and 40 quote-tweets (shown below, right). The meme was covered by Junkee.[4]
