My Horny Ass Could Not X refers to a phrasal template used in memes wherein creators replace the X with a scenario or setting their horniness would not allow due to satirically uncontrollable infatuation. It started on Twitter in late 2021 because of a tweet related to SpongeBob's holes. It became more viral in 2022 after an Instagram Story that read, "My horny ass could not live next to Squidward." From there, the snowclone trend spread to Facebook and TikTok, among other social media sites.

Origin

On September 25th, 2021, Twitter^[15] user uzayvert tweeted, "My horny ass couldn’t live w spongebob, bro got waaaayyy too many holes 😂🤦🏽‍♂️ 🟨," earning roughly 28,600 likes in 11 months (shown below).

Spread

On September 26th, 2021, Twitter^[1] user YCP4EVRRR posted a copycat tweet that read, "My horny ass could NOT live with spongebob, bro got waaaayyy too many holes 😂🤦🏽," and earned roughly 5,400 likes in eight hours (shown below, left). YCP4EVRRR's tweet was deleted, however, on September 26th, the Instagram^[1] page mymemepagexoxo earned over 200 likes for a repost of it.

Also, on September 27th, 2021, the Instagram^[2] page imquackin reposted a Facebook post from user Violet Antetokounmpo that was also made on September 26th, 2021, reading the same sentence as YCP4EVRRR's tweet. Violet Antetokounmpo has since been deleted along with the post that received roughly 2,000 reactions. Regardless, Instagram^[3] page imquackin's post received roughly 3,800 likes in 11 months (shown below, right).

Later on September 26th, 2021, Twitter^[4] user BhadDhad posted a copycat tweet, earning roughly 1,400 likes in 11 months. On October 10th, 2021, Twitter^[5] user japestar also posted a copycat tweet, earning roughly 4,100 likes in 10 months.

Some time in mid-March 2022, an unknown Instagram user posted a Story that read, "MY HORNY ASS COULD NOT LIVE NEXT TO SQUIDWARD😂😂😂" (shown below). The Story was screenshotted and reposted by the Instagram^[6] account derangedigstories on March 17th, 2022, earning roughly 3,600 likes in five months. It was also reposted by since-deleted Twitter^[7] user pollen196. On March 18th, 2022, Twitter^[8] user soulalchemist_ tweeted the same sentence, earning over 200 likes in five months.

On March 22nd, 2022, the Facebook^[9] page TNM2: The Growth Spurt posted, "My horny ass could not live next to squidward😂😂😂," earning roughly 2,500 likes. On March 31st, 2022, the Instagram^[10] page rospamzz.z posted a screenshot of TNM2: The Growth Spurt's post along with its top comment, related to Handsome Squidward. The Instagram post received roughly 46,900 likes in five months (shown below).

After the SpongeBob iterations ran their course, the phrasal template saw more usage on Twitter and elsewhere. For instance, on July 9th, 2022, Twitter^[11] user beelcher tweeted, "my horny ass could NOT live next to the man with the yellow hat 😭😭😭," in reference to the character from Curious George. The tweet received roughly 66,000 likes in one month (shown below, left). On July 24th, 2022, Instagram^[12] user postironicmemevault uploaded a Whisper post about Guy Fieri's show Guy's Grocery Games, earning roughly 1,900 likes in two weeks (shown below, right).

On July 18th, 2022, TikToker^[13] chiquiifreakii referenced the phrasal template on TikTok, writing in text overlay, "my horny ass could NOT work in a morgue😭😭😭," on a video that received roughly 55,600 plays and 2,600 likes in three weeks (shown below, left). On July 22nd, 2022, TikToker^[14] robthoven said his horny ass could not have "fairy godparents" in reference to The Fairly Oddparents cartoon. His video received roughly 1.1 million plays and 214,400 likes in two weeks (shown below, right).
