My Cut Is Insane, Shout Out To My Barber, Dawg or Dude Holy Fucking Smokes refers to a viral video of a Black man sitting in his car showing his haircut off to the camera, saying he's excited for the chicks to get a look at it. The video was uploaded to a now-deleted TikTok account around October 2020 and went viral through reposts and as an original sound on TikTok, often used in videos where users show off scars and cuts on their bodies.

Origin

The video was originally posted to TikTok by user @christian.nero sometime around October 2020, although the account has been removed. Christian now uses the account @christian.nero1 on TikTok.^[1] The video, which features Nero showing off his new haircut to the camera and giving a shout out to his barber, was reuploaded to YouTube^[2] on October 21st, 2020, gaining over 63,000 views in two years (age restricted).

Spread

On October 21st, 2020, Instagram^[3] user trezmccain posted a video where he lip dubs to the audio from Christian Nero's video, gaining over 39,000 views in two years (shown below). The video gained further viral spread than the original, leading some to believe it is the original. On November 18th it was reuploaded to YouTube,^[4] gaining over 300,000 views in two years.

On November 17th, Instagram^[8] user jawlessjenkins posted a SpongeBob SquarePants edit using the video, gaining over 14,000 views in two years (shown below).

On December 19th, 2021, the video was reuploaded to TikTok,^[5] gaining over 2.1 million views in four months. The original sound went viral in early 2022 as TikTokers used it in lip dub videos, many framing the term "cut" literally to show off wounds on their bodies and what caused them. For example, on March 14th, 2022, TikToker^[6] @annab0rti0nn posted a video showing off a cat scratch, gaining over 8.9 million views in a month (shown below, left). On March 21st, TikToker^[7] @lil.izzi.vert posted a video showing off an arm she lost to a shark, gaining over 13.3 million views in a comparable span of time (shown below, right).
