Mojo Dojo Casa House or Welcome to My Mojo Dojo Casa House refers to a series of memes inspired by the 2023 Barbie movie, referencing a scene in the film in which Ken takes over the Barbie Dreamhouse and rebrands it as the Mojo Dojo Casa House. Some of the most prominent memes to reference the house feature images of houses, often unorthodox, describing them as the "mojo dojo casa house." The memes began to appear on sites including Twitter, Facebook and Instagram in the days following the film's release on July 21st, 2023.

Origin

On July 21st, 2023, Barbie was released in theaters. The film contains a scene in which Ken rebrands the Barbie Dreamhouse as the "Mojo Dojo Casa House" ("casa" meaning Spanish for "house"). That day, people began referencing the mojo dojo casa house in memes on Twitter.^[1] It is unclear who made the first meme referencing the house, but one of the earliest viral examples was posted by Twitter^[2] user @rosedommu on July 22nd, sharing an image of Michael Cera from the film, writing, "I know he was ass up in the Mojo Dojo Casa House when the sun set," garnering over 56,000 likes in three days (shown below).

Over the following days, people began posting further memes about the Mojo Dojo Casa House, often depicting various houses as the Mojo Dojo Casa House or referencing it in another way. On July 23rd, 2023, Twitter^[3] user @atotalposer posted a Star Wars meme referencing the house, garnering over 11,000 likes in two days (shown below, left). Later that day, Twitter^[4] user @mishricci posted a meme that gained over 92,000 likes in two days (shown below, right).

That day, the Facebook^[5] page Rey Skywalker-core posted another Star Wars meme referencing the house, which was reposted by the Implying Movies are Good III: Tokyo Grift Facebook^[6] page the next day, garnering over 4,700 reactions and 1,500 shares in a day. On July 24th, Twitter^[7] user @sixofsongbirds posted a meme about Twitter's rebrand to X, writing, "this feels like the barbie house turning into the mojo dojo casa house," garnering over 208,000 likes in a day (shown below).

Also on July 24th, 2023, Twitter^[8] user @seanjetravers posted a photo of a building featured in the film Midsommar, writing, "Take him to the mojo dojo casa house," garnering over 61,000 likes in a day (shown below, left). On July 25th, Smosh shared a photo to Twitter^[9] of the house featured in some of their videos, writing, "mojo dojo casa house," garnering over 17,000 likes in under a day (shown below, right).
