On August 27th, 2023, TMZ ^[1] reported Mitchel Musso had been arrested for public drunkenness, theft and more. The tabloid explained that the former Hannah Montana star got hauled off to jail the evening prior in Rockwall, Texas after officers responded to a call for service at a nearby hotel where folks were claiming Musso had been acting belligerent and allegedly stole a snack of "the potato variety" from the food market.

Upon the story's publication, X^[2] entertainment page @PopBase posted a mugshot of the actor that night (shown below), which amassed over 57,000 likes and 7,100 retweets in a few hours.

Online, the actor's arrest became the subject of online discussions and memes, as his mugshot spread in late August 2023. For example, on August 27th, 2023, X^[3] user @LucaGuadagnegro tweeted his opinion about the event saying "All jokes aside, child actors should get lifetime therapy because how do you deal with being on Disney channel and then needing to steal a bag of chips." The post (shown below, left) amassed roughly 17,700 likes and 420 retweets in a few hours.

Also that same day, X[^[4] user @uHThreaT tweeted in disbelief that the actor was arrested (shown below, right), which garnered over 620 likes and five retweets in a few hours.
