Mineblox and You Were Always Playing Roblox refers to the Minecraft and Roblox hybrid fan song "Mineblox" by iHasCupquake. The song, about a love story between a Roblox player and Minecraft player, was released in 2017 and went viral on TikTok in March 2023 as users created original animations and animatics based on the song using characters from various fandoms.

On July 15th, 2017, YouTuber[1] iHasCupquake posted an animated music video for an original song titled "Mineblox" about a love story between a Minecraft and Roblox player, garnering over 31.3 million views in six years (shown below).

In March 2023, TikTokers began posting fan animations and animatics set to the song that depict characters from various fandoms acting similarly as the music video. For example, on March 8th, 2023, TikToker[2] @rouxlspng posted an animation featuring South Park characters, garnering over 348,000 views in a month (shown below, left). On March 14th, TikToker[3] @cheegsburger posted a version with Genshin Impact characters, garnering over 834,000 views in a month (shown below, right).
On March 31st, Twitter[4] user @CR4Sh_K1D posted a piece of fan art referencing the song, garnering over 1,500 likes in three weeks (shown below, left). On April 20th, Tumblr[5] user scrib-baby posted a piece of RWBY fan art based on the trend, garnering over 60 notes in a day (shown below, right).
