About
#MillennialAMovie is a hashtag game in which Twitter users take popular movie titles and slightly edit them to make the films be about the plight of Millennials.
Origin
On October 25th, 2017, Twitter account @TagFemmes[1] tweeted an invitation to Twitter users to play "#MillennialAMovie" as part of popular hashtag-game account, @HashtagRoundup. Their tweet gained 23 retweets and 47 likes.
Spread
Quickly after the introduction of the hashtag, it began trending on Twitter, as thousands of Twitter users added their twist on the game. Moviefone[2] was one of the first media outlets to cover the hashtag, and major outlets including Buzzfeed,[3] Huffington Post,[4] Refinery29,[5] and more.
