Middle Finger Duel refers to a viral video of two men raising their middle fingers, an obscene hand gesture of disrespect, several times in each other's direction. Following its popularity, the video's creator, FuckJerry creative director Guy Blelloch, admitted that he staged the video.

Origin

On December 4th, 2018, Guy Blelloch, using the Twitter ^[1] handle @apiecebyguy, tweeted the video with the caption, "The most intense fight I've ever seen." The tweet received more than 168,000 retweets, 475,000 likes and 17 million views in 24 hours (shown below).

Spread

Some edited the video to include different visual and sound effects. For examples, Twitter^[5] user @DropToons added images and sounds of lasers in the video. The post received more than 780 retweets, 2,900 likes and 62,000 views in 24 hours (shown below).

Following the spread of the video, Blelloch confirmed that the video had been staged. He said of the video, "I made it with my friends."^[2] Blelloch also clarified that the video was not made for his social media account and entertainment company FuckJerry.
