Melania Trump's Green RNC Dress refers to a green dress worn by First Lady Melania Trump during the 2020 Republican National Convention. The dress led people to make photoshops of the dress using the green screen effect.

On August 27th, 2020, Melania Trump appeared at the 2020 Republican National Convention wearing a bright green dress (shown below).


Spread

After Melania's appearance, Twitter users quickly began using projecting things onto her green dress in numerous photoshops. Many focused on unflattering reminders of problems during the Trump administration, such as the comparatively high U.S. infection count of the coronavirus. Twitter user @_sheateher[1] posted an image of the virus on the dress, gaining over 180 retweets and 600 likes (shown below, top). Parker Molloy[2] tweeted Melania walking in the dress while it showed the U.S.'s poor coronavirus statistics, gaining over 21,000 retweets and 71,000 likes (shown below, bottom).



Project Lincoln tweeted a video of Melania walking with footage from the Kenosha Protests, gaining over 7,000 retweets and 20,000 likes (shown below, top). The Late Show With Stephen Colbert tweeted a video featuring Melania's dress reading "I'm with stupid," gaining over 980 retweets and 2,400 likes (shown below, bottom). Jokes were covered by the Daily Dot.[3]
