Mega Photo Meme Mazes refers to a mememaking practice which involves creating humorous, frightening or elsewise emotionally engaging labyrinths consisting of viral images and memes via Mega Photo application. The practice gained popularity on Instagram and iFunny in late June 2019.
Origin
The exact origin of the meme is currently unknown. On June 26th, 2019, Instagram user xgot_the_saucex reposted the earliest known Mega Photo meme maze created by an unknown user to Instagram (shown below).[1] On the following day, iFunny user ihatemyphysicsteacher reposted the meme to the platform.[2]
Spread
In the following days, more users on iFunny and Instagram posted meme mazes created in the application, with notable versions posted by iFunny users Radiright[3] and IamNoble[4] (shown below, left and right) and Instagram users doggosupremee[5] and asdfcobi.[6]
