About
Me And The Bad Bitch I Pulled By Being X, also written Me And The Bad Bitch I Pulled From Being X, is a phrasal template that jokes about getting an "out of my league" girlfriend who the man is able to attract due to some unlikely personality trait, such as being cringe or based, by replacing the last word of the catchphrase. It was first used on Twitter in late 2021, spreading across social media within meme captions. Additionally, it relates to the She Let Me Hit Because I'm Goofy snowclone.
Origin
On September 8th, 2021, Twitter[1] user JeffHardyStan posted a tweet that captioned an image of Morty Smith from Rick and Morty holding the hand of a Black woman with, "me and the bad bitch i pulled from being funny," earning roughly 146,700 likes over the course of nine months (shown below).
Spread
On September 10th, 2021, the tweet was reposted by Instagram [2] page mememanmyles, earning roughly 43,600 likes in nine months. The meme didn't receive a second iteration until March 25th, 2022, when the Instagram[3] page willawanna used the same caption for a picture of Saul Goodman and Kim Wexler from Better Call Saul in bed together, earning roughly 4,800 likes in three months (shown below).
On April 25th, 2022, the Instagram[4] page spooked_memes.v4 reposted a meme made by the account sansnuts (since-deleted) that captioned a screenshot from The Bad Guys with, "Me and the bad bitch I pulled by being goofy and silly," earning roughly 6,000 likes in a month and a half (shown below, left). This meme template was then exploited by creators who replaced the last word and the image macro. For instance, on May 3rd, 2022, the Instagram[5] page punished.dimitri.amiibo replaced the last word to read, "Autistic," earning over 130 likes in one month (shown below, right).
The "Autistic" iteration was used en masse by Tumblr users who hopped onto the trend. For instance, on May 23rd, 2022, the Tumblr[6] blog spooksier used the template to insert their own OC, earning roughly 1,700 notes for the post over the course of one week.
