About

Max Design Pro "What? Help Me!" also known as Max Design Pro "Help Me!" or the "Help Me" Chicken Nugget, refers to a sound effect used by YouTuber Max Design Pro in his Gegagedigedagedago videos. The Roblox Chicken Nugget (or any other character) is shown with a distressed face saying "What? Help me!" while a button reading, Help = 👍, is shown above them, meaning, "help = like button." The "Help Me!" sound effect is the voice of comedian Kevin Hart. The precursor "What?" is from a viral JonTron clip. The "Help = 👍" symbol was used as an exploitable in mid-2024. Also, the sound effects were referenced in creepy Twiddlefinger memes.

Origin

On March 21st, 2024, YouTuber Max Design Pro posted a Short[1] that showed the Gegagedigedagedago chicken nugget and his self-insert Max character. The Gegagedigedagedago says, "What? Help me!" midway through the video, acting as the first known usage of the sound effects in tandem by Max Design Pro. Over four months, the video received roughly 2 million views and 138,000 likes (shown below).

The "What?" sound effect is from the 2014 YouTube[3] video "Anti Drug Games" uploaded by YouTuber JonTron (shown below).

The "Help me!" sound effect is from the 2013 stand-up comedy special Kevin Hart: Let Me Explain starring comedian Kevin Hart. It's from a segment called "Best Friends Code" (YouTube[2] upload shown below).

Spread

On March 25th, 2024, YouTuber[4] Max Design Pro shared another video that used the "Help me!" sound effect, amassing over 15 million views and 443,000 likes in four months (shown below, left).

The sound effects were continually used in the YouTuber's videos going into 2024. For instance, on April 6th, 2024, Max Design Pro posted a Short[5] that received over 85 million views and 3.5 million likes in three months (shown below, right).

The "What? Help me!" sound effects were then used in parodies. For instance, on May 23rd, 2024, X[6] user @ThatOne_Kid39 tweeted, "so I found the original video where that 'HELP ME' audio comes from / turns out our little nugget here doesn’t say something too nice!" attaching an extended clip of the soundbite in which Kevin Hart says the N-word. Over two months, the tweet received roughly 13,000 likes (shown below).

In mid-2024, meme creators started using the "Help = 👍" button as an exploitable. For instance, on July 2nd, 2024, X[7] user @DarkWorldRalsei added the "Help = 👍" to a Detarune setting, gaining over 6,400 likes in a week (shown below, left).

On July 8th, X[8] user @_flinsky_ exploited the Thing Thing comic by adding a fourth panel with the "Help = 👍" button, receiving over 11,000 likes in a day (shown below, right).
