Mainstream Journalists Won't Show You This refers to an exploitable meme template taken from FOX News' The Ingraham Angle showing Laura Ingraham next to an image with a lower-third new chyron reading, "MAINSTREAM JOURNALISTS WON'T SHOW YOU THIS." In October 2022, people began photoshopping the image next to Ingraham, replacing it with something comedic.

Origin

On October 18th, 2022, Twitter^[1] user @abughazalehkat posted a meme format showing a photoshopped image of Laura Ingraham on The Ingraham Angle standing to the left of a green screen, reporting over a chyron reading, "MAINSTREAM JOURNALISTS WON'T SHOW YOU THIS," writing, "here's the template. i want to see some works of art." The tweet garnered over 24,000 likes and 1,400 retweets in two days (shown below).

The tweet inspired numerous users to post photoshops in the comments, replacing the green screen with a funny image (popular examples shown below).

Spread

The format began to spread that day. On October 19th, 2022, Twitter^[2] user @JizzJohnsonJr posted an NSFW version of the meme showing Yoda performing oral sex on a woman, garnering over 11,000 likes and 900 retweets in a day. On October 19th, 2022, Twitter^[3] user @JUNlPER posted a photoshopped image of Laura Ingraham on The Ingraham Angle standing to the left of an image of a burger wearing a cowboy hat and smoking a cigarette reporting over a chyron reading, "MAINSTREAM JOURNALISTS WON'T SHOW YOU THIS," garnering over 3,500 likes in a day (shown below).

That day, Twitter^[4] user @ViagraPenis posted a new version of the meme using a photo of a mini horse with a walker, garnering over 350 likes in a day (shown below). On the same day, Instagram^[5] user jojo.pdx, a business page for a food truck, posted a meme replacing the image with their potato wedges, garnering over 1,200 likes in a day.
