Lucy, full name Lucyna Kushinada, is a character in the anime series Cyberpunk Edgerunners developed by studio Trigger for Netflix. Following the release of the series in September 2022, the character achieved major virality online as a waifu alongside Rebecca.

Origin

On September 13th, 2022, the anime series Cyberpunk Edgerunners, set in the world of the video game Cyberpunk 2077 and created by Studio Trigger, premiered on Netflix (official trailer shown below).^[1]

In the first episode of the anime, the character Lucy, a mysterious netrunner and the series deuteragonist, is introduced. In the series, Lucy takes in David Martinez, the main character, as her trainee.

Lucy is depicted as a young woman with white hair and purple eyes who is a netrunner in Maine's crew. She considers Night City her prison and dreams of one day leaving it for a life on the moon.^[2]
