On December 22nd, 2020, TikTok user Lubalin posted a video in which he sang a confusing dialogue between a person inquiring about a house for sale and the seller. The TikTok gained over 4.2 million likes on the platform (shown below).

Spread

The TikTok quickly made Lubalin popular on the platform, gaining over 17 million views in two weeks.[1] It also inspired parodies and duets. For example, user @Jasonrodelo posted an interpretive dance set to the song (shown below, left) and user @favoritebikecop posted a parody sketch using the audio (shown below, right).

On December 29th, 2020, Lubalin posted another song made from an argument people were having about a casserole recipe, gaining over 5.1 million likes (shown below).

The same day, the video was posted to Twitter by Emily Nussbaum,[2] gaining over 8,900 retweets, 2,900 quote tweets, and 39,000 likes. As the tweet spread on the platform, people remarked how surprised they were to find they actually enjoyed the song. User @ismashfizzle[3] posted a Worried Jay-Z GIF to express her enjoyment of the song (shown below, left). User @brianlsimmons[4] wrote, "I literally can't get enough of this, and will be humming it as I fall asleep tonight. Also, Caroline needs to clear this shit up." The videos were covered by Buzzfeed[1] and Junkee.[5]
