Love Story Discolines refers to a short dance set to a remix of Taylor Swift's 2008 song "Love Story" by Disco Lines. The remix, created in March 2020 became a popular dance trend on TikTok in July 2020. Typically, these dance videos include hip thrusts and a zoom-out video effect.

Origin

On March 29th, 2020, TikToker and DJ discolines published a clip of his remix of "Love Story" (shown below, left). The video gained over 1,000 likes in four months. On June 7th, TikToker ethanishung started a dance trend with a video captioned, "Pov: I see you at a party and try to impress you with my moves" which received over 14,100 likes in a month (shown below, right). On July 22nd, TikToker pokemonmasterzo uploaded a video that started combining the dance trend with a pan out effect (shown below, right).

On July 24th, 2020, TikToker alexanderleonetti uploaded a video in which he pushes away the camera and dances to the remix (shown below, left). The video garnered over 658,500 likes in five days. On July 26th, TikToker jayleepothier uploaded a popular video in which a large group of people participates in the dance (shown below, center). The video accumulated over four million likes in three days. On July 28th, TikToker lisaandlena published another popular video that acquired over 679,800 likes in a day (shown below, right). StayHipp^[1] published an article on the trend.
