Long Day Factory is a series of memes about working at the "long day factory," a fictional workplace based on the idea of having a "long day" at work. The earliest known example of a long day factory meme was posted by iFunny user FLONCHZONE in June 2023 and inspired numerous variations over the following years, many of which features animals dreading working a day at the long day factory.

Origin

On June 30th, 2023, iFunny^[1] user FLONCHZONE posted a meme showing a seal being pet by a person wearing a rubber glove, captioned, "Me after a long day at the long day factory," garnering over 18,400 smiles in two years. This is the earliest known example of a meme playing with the idea of the "long day factory."

Spread

Memes about the long day factory became increasingly popular over the following years, including memes that use an image of a factory labelled "long day factory."

On May 12th, 2025, the catswithhardhats Instagram^[2] page posted a meme showing a kitten in a hardhat with a can of Monster Energy, reading, "Time for another long day at the long day factory," garnering over 106,000 likes in five months. A similar meme was posted to the catswithhardhats Facebook^[3] page on May 30th, gaining over 5,000 reactions and 1,900 shares in the same span of time.

On July 8th, Facebook^[4] page The Real Balaclava Man posted a meme showing an image of an army of Alex Jones' walking away from a factory labeled "long day factory," Jones saying, "Hope I don't have a long day," garnering over 22,000 reactions and 10,000 shares in three months.

On September 3rd, X^[5] user @Nugjokes posted, "'God I hope it’s not a long day' – Guy who works at the long day factory," gaining over 1,000 likes in a month. On October 13th, X^[6] user @weirddalle posted a version of the Alex Jones meme that replaces Jones with a seal, garnering over 42,000 likes in four days.

On October 15th, X^[7] user @northstardoll posted a version of the meme that replaces Alex Jones with a cat in a tie, garnering over 300,000 likes and 24,000 reposts in two days.
