Lonely Lonely, I Guess I'm Lonely, also known as the Dante Dance and sometimes mistakenly referred to as Lonely Lonely, I'm So Lonely, is an Animation Meme and TikTok dance trend based on the character Dante from Devil May Cry dancing the Hakari Dance to the Russian song "Eva (TyRo Remix)" by Vintage. It became popular on YouTube and TikTok in April and May 2025.

Origin

On June 25th, 2024, YouTuber[1] DOOMGUY BOT created a Hakari Dance video with Dante from Devil May Cry, in which he's holding a slice of pizza in his mouth. Over 11 months, the video gained over 2.4 million views (shown below).



On April 15th, 2025, TikToker[2] @baki3th.ffx used the abovementioned video and added the song "Eva (TyRo Remix)" by Vintage,[3] leading with the lyrics, "Lonely, lonely, I guess I'm lonely." The edit also included characters from the anime C-3. The video gained over 654,700 likes in a month (shown below).

In the following weeks, many creators used the TikTok sound[5] of the abovementioned video. For instance, on April 19th, 2025, TikToker[6] @frenchghostface posted a video of himself doing the dance to the song as Ghostface from the Scream film franchise, amassing over 1.9 million likes in a month (shown below).

Also on April 19th, TIkToker[9] @tontsacu.ra cosplayed as Dante and recreated the Hakari Dance to the Lonely Lonely, I Guess I'm Lonely sound, receiving over 2 million likes in a month (shown below).

On May 2nd, 2025, YouTuber[4] Kumo posted an iteration of the meme, combining MiSide with the Hakari Dance. The video received over 352,000 views in three weeks (shown below).



On May 9th, YouTuber[7] ★Silly.s.k Aոimation★ posted a Dandy's World animation meme that followed the trend, gaining over 6.2 million views in 13 days (shown below).



Iterations continued on TikTok as well. For instance, on May 11th, 2025, TikToker[8] @kk_uroko posted a Project Sekai animation meme, which amassed over 2.1 million likes in 11 days (shown below).

On June 23, 2025, YouTuber[10] Keysha_cbindo posted a political meme of the 2025 Iran-Israel War in countryball animation. The video received over 12,000,000 views and 207,000 likes. (shown below).



On June 3, 2025, YouTuber[11] Apple Sky Gaming posted a Gacha Life video about the comparison of two videos of this animation meme. The video gained over 11 million views and 224,000 likes. (shown below).



By May 22nd, 2025, the trend's primary TikTok sound[5] had amassed over 44,600 posts.

Response

On July 22, 2025, YouTuber[12] DOOMGUY BOT's response video about the trend of animation memes. The video gained over 180k views and 22k likes. (shown below).
