The llddis "Broke Ass Niggas" TikTok refers to a viral video posted by TikToker @llddis (aka llddiiss or Lilly Gaddis) in June 2024, in which she's seen wearing an apron, cooking and ranting about how everybody she knows is married to "broke ass niggas," saying, "Everybody I know who's married right now, they're married to broke ass niggas." llddis, a white woman, shocked many viewers with her casual use of the N-word as the clip garnered attention online in June 2024. The video also spread to Twitter / X where more memes and viral reactions ensued. llddis later deleted the video and posted a response in which she doubled down by harking on her First Amendment rights and opposing people who called her racist. Her TikTok account was later suspended. Lilly Gaddis was fired from her job at Rophe of the Carolinas soon after via a post on the company's Instagram account @ropheotc.

Origin

Sometime on or before June 9th, 2024, TikToker[1][2] @llddis (whose name is reportedly Lilly Gaddis[11]) posted a video (since deleted) in which she was wearing an apron, cooking and ranting about her friends, saying at one point, "Everybody I know who's married right now, they're married to broke ass niggas."

The video is still accessible via a viral repost shared by X[3] user @riseydoux on June 9th, 2024, which received over 58.6 million views and 74,000 likes in two days (shown below).

The video received a slew of viral quotes and replies on X in the following days. For instance, on June 9th, 2024, X[4] user @reenzy posted a quote that read, "…didn't expect that…" receiving over 137,000 likes in two days (shown below, left).

On June 10th, X[5] user @lherealchieff tweeted a screenshot of a top comment left on the original TikTok video, in which a user said, "MARRIED TO WHO???" and TikToker @llddis replied, "You heard me" (shown below, right). In a day, the tweet gained over 288,000 likes.

TikToker llddis Response Video

Sometime on or before June 11th, 2024, TikToker @llddis deleted the video of her saying the N-word.

On June 10th, she then posted a response video to TikTok[6] with the thumbnail reading, "Fuck u." She addressed the viewers by saying, "A recent video of mine seems to have upset members of a certain community and all the backlash just really made me, you know, just really do a deep dive; like do a soul search. And after all that, I still couldn't find to care."

The video then transitioned into a video of Andrew Breitbart saying "War" (as in "race war") and a quote from Larry Flynt about First Amendment rights. In a day, the video received roughly 3.7 million plays and 51,200 likes (since deleted).

She also posted the video to her X[7] account @llddiiss on June 10th, 2024, gaining over 4.2 million views and 14,000 likes in a day (shown below).

Online Reactions

Her response video inspired numerous reactions in mid-June 2024, like a duet posted by TikToker[8] @terrhetta_tweet on June 10th, 2024, in which she seemed shocked by the video, conveying disappointment. In a day, the duet gained roughly 1.1 million plays and 8,400 likes (shown below).

Her response video also inspired reactions on X, many of which were from Black men who joked about being attracted to her. For instance, on June 10th, X[9] user @divinemitc quoted the video with a photo of a bad haircut on a Black guy with the caption, "'Idc she bad' 'I can fix her,'" gaining over 220 likes in a day (shown below).

Later on June 10th, 2024, the X[10] gimmick account @kirawontmiss copied the abovementioned tweet, receiving over 10,000 likes in a day.

TikTok Suspension

On June 11th, 2024, llddis' TikTok account was suspended.

Firing

On June 11th, 2024, the Instagram[12] account for Rophe of the Carolinas (@ropheotc) shared a long-form text post in which the organization announced that they'd let go a "newly hired employee" based on "inflammatory remarks on social media." The employee was Lilly Gaddis, aka TikToker @llddis. In a day, the Instagram post received over 3,800 likes (shown below).

Later on June 11th, 2024, X[13] user @Blackkout__ tweeted about the company's Instagram post and Gaddis' firing, receiving over 21.3 million views and 153,000 likes in a day (shown below, left).

The tweet inspired viral discourse in quotes and replies, like a quote shared by X[14] user @maliktheoracle on June 11th, who conveyed disappointment, writing, "Yall just created a new rightwing influencer in front of our eyes in record time," gaining over 163,000 likes in a day (shown below, right).
