About

Living With Wario is a three-part series created by Marlon Reid (formerly known as Games and Wario) and animated by the YouTube channel TheStringiniBros based on the Nintendo character Wario. Originally deleted due to the 2019 YouTube COPPA regulations, the then-lost videos were recovered in April of 2020, which paved the way for numerous Twitter accounts in June to make jokes based on "Living With Wario Episode 2," where the titular character Wario showcases paintings of his numerous accomplishments on his way to the restroom.[3]

History

The Games and Wario channel made its debut on June 24th, 2014. It was created by YouTube content creator Marlon Reid.[1] The channel's main focus was video gaming news, with videos of skits interspersed between them. Among these was the animated series titled "Living With Wario," which depicted Wario talking about his lifestyle in a vlog-like format. (shown left).[2]

The videos were uploaded in late 2016 (the original dates unknown), where the second episode "Living With Wario Episode 2" garnered infamy for the disconcerting ending that showcased Wario displaying incontinence (shown below, right).[3]

Towards the tail end of 2019, due to COPPA's infamous integration to YouTube's guidelines, the three videos were removed from the Games and Wario channel, and the channel was then rebranded to MarlonGamingNation.[1] The first episode went missing, and the only known copies of Episode 2 and 3 were a hidden, poor quality recording and an upload by the animator respectively.

Spread

On April 7th, 2020, Twitter user Chimes [original tweet deleted] tweeted about the infamous Episode 2 upon finding out it had become lost media (shown below, left). The video was later found by Twitter user @defaultp3rson[5] hours later (shown below, right). After the gimmick accounts based on the video were made, the original tweet received 22 retweets and 109 likes in two months.

On June 5th, 2020, Twitter[6] user @Wario_Land_4 uploaded a clip from Episode 2 of Wario exclaiming "Look, guys, look, it's one of my greatest achievement Wario Land 4 on the Game Boy Advance, haha!", followed by numerous responses with the same clip in other tweets or in their own tweets.

Immediately after, numerous accounts inspired from the @Wario_Land_4 account were made, each from different quotes from the same episode.[7] This resulted in numerous remixes and edits of the episode, and on June 7th the long-lost episodes were uploaded by Marlon himself,[2][3][8] where he wrote a comment on how the videos became deleted in the first place.
