About

Live Action Lilo & Stitch Hoax refers to a fake image of a CGI Stitch from the upcoming live-action remake of the Disney animated film Lilo & Stitch. The character's creepy design sparked reactions from social media users who may not have known the image was a hoax, and it's possible the image's creator may not have known that there is a live-action Lilo & Stitch being made.

Origin

On April 13th, 2019, Twitter account @theme_park posted a tweet saying "BREAKING: Disney announces live-action Lilo and Stitch" along with an image of a CGI Stitch.[1] The tweet gained over 7,700 retweets and 31,000 likes (shown below). Of note, it appeared that the account did not know that Disney actually is producing a live-action version of Lilo and Stitch. They clarified that their CGI Stitch was created by Boris Kiselicki.
