Lisa Simpson's Presentation is a series of photoshopped image macros featuring the character Lisa Simpson from the American animated comedy The Simpsons delivering a speech in front of a blank screen. Online, people add text to the screen and occasionally the people watching the presentation.

Origin

On March 11th, 2001, the season 12 episode of The Simpsons "Bye, Bye, Nerdy" aired in the United States. In the episode, the character Lisa delivers a presentation on bullying throughout time (shown below).[1]

On May 16th, 2018, Redditor [2] thomas22howe posted a screen capture of the scene to the /r/MemeEconomy subreddit. They titled the post, "Simpsons memes are always a good investment so BUY BUY BUY."

Later that day, Redditor[3] Paralaxien posted the image with the phrase "Why Anime was a mistake" on the screen in the /r/MemeEconomy subreddit. The post (shown below, left) received more than 650 points (92% upvoted) and 15 comments in two days.

That day, Redditor[4] MyPeepeeFeelsSilly in the /r/dankmemes subreddit posted a variation of the gnome elf super imposed onto Lisa's head and the text "Why sucking dick DOESN'T make you gay by The Mods." The post (shown below, center) received more than 6,100 points (97% upvoted) and 70 comments in two days.

That day, Redditor[5] Callippus posted a version in which the screen reads "Why I Don't Need Therapy" in the /r/2meirl42meirl4meirl (shown below, left).

Reddit Snoo Variation

During the meme war between Instagram meme accounts and /r/dankmemes, on January 24th, 2019, Redditor trrv210 posted a version of the Lisa Simpson presentation that replaced the original characters with the Reddit logo, the "Snoo." The post included the text "When we redraw our memes with the Reddit Snoo, Instagram can't steal it and we won't need annoying watermarks." The post received more than 41,000 points (79% upvoted) and 980 comments in 24 hours (shown below).
