Lily Lang SEC Burnerverse Trolling refers to an informal harassment and trolling campaign targetting a university student named Lily Lang that was initiated by various anonymous fraternity members in Southeastern Conference (SEC) schools. In a disparate Twitter / X community they call the "burnerverse," various anonymous Twitter accounts associated with SEC fraternities shared memes about Lily Lang in June 2024, alleging that she cheated on her boyfriend with pledges from different frats and colleges or was notoriously promiscuous prior to dating him. Rumors of a "video" involving Lang also spread online at the time.

Origin

On June 24th, 2024, the anonymous Twitter / X[1] account @popdatpussyfoAC (Arthur Cacciatore) shared an image of a pair of college students with the caption, "Hey bud….its art here, just wanted to let ya down easy….your uhhh girlfriend? Yeah so she may or may not have had sex with like 35% of the SEC. Solid head tho…stay strong brother.."

In his bio, Cacciatore describes himself as a "racist" "divorced" "addict," formerly a Sigma Nu member from 2008, and presently working in sports investment and pharmaceutical sales.

Spread

Various anonymous X accounts began sharing the image posted by Cacciatore and posting memes about the woman pictured over the following days. For example, on June 24th, 2024, X[2] user @cryptoxa_ posted a Corey Harris Driving meme, gathering over 1,900 likes in a day (seen below, left).

Also on June 24th, X[3] user @CridneySrosby posted a Guy Explaining style meme about the "burnerverse," a term used to describe a community of anonymous Twitter accounts that discuss college frats and sporting news. The post gathered over 1,000 likes in a day (seen below, right).

Later that day, X[4] user @DuragRebel made a post comparing Lang to other women that went viral in 2024, including Hawk Tuah Girl and Oilers Girl, gathering over 6,000 likes in a day (seen below, left). Also on June 24th, X[5] user @whiskeycoke_ posted a Thousand Yard Stare meme about the man pictured with Lang, gathering over 1,000 likes in a day.

Later on June 24th, 2024, TikToker[6] @taylorscoldtakes posted a video recounting the burnerverse's treatment of Lily Lang, gathering over 1 million views and 126,000 likes before it was deleted.

Discourse about Lily Lang also appeared on Reddit in late June 2024. On June 24th, a thread inquiring about the memes on Twitter was posted to the /r/Frat[7] subreddit, receiving over 80 upvotes and 60 comments in 17 hours. Many commenters discussed seeing or wanting to see a purported video involving Lang, while one claimed it was unrelated and depicted another woman.

On June 25th, 2024, an article on the site Stealth Optional[8] was then published covering the "Burnerverse" and "Lily Yang."
