On January 9th, 2025, rapper Lil Wudy posted a preview of his then-unreleased song "Phoebe" to TikTok,[1] garnering over 487,000 views in a month. On January 17th, the full version of "Phoebe" was released on Wudy's Soundcloud,[2] garnering over 89,000 plays in a month. The song does not explain who Lil Phoebe is.

The preview video's original sound became notably popular in the following weeks, inspiring over 17,000 uses in a month. Most of the videos are unrelated to the song. For example, on February 16th, TikToker[3] @babymoh04 posted a meme to the sound that gained over 5.6 million views in three days.



Later in February 2025, memes focusing on "Lil Phoebe" were popularized on TikTok. For example, on February 16th, 2025, TikToker[4] @indy.prodzz posted a video consisting of basketball footage over an amateur singing the lyrics, garnering over 1.2 million views in three days. Several commenters asked, "Who is Lil Phoebe?"



On February 17th, TikToker[5] @vexbolts posted a video in which he sings a parody version of the song, garnering over 1.2 million views in two days.



On February 18th, TikToker[6] @sanilovesmusic posted a video in which he plays "Phoebe" on a melodica, garnering over 526,000 views in a day.



On February 19th, TikToker[7] @unclecrashout posted a meme set to "Phoebe" showing a man on a jackhammer in a hole, captioned, "Bro getting Hawk Tuah from lil phoebe I can feel the pain in his dih," garnering over 700,000 views in under a day.
