On August 15th, 2025, TikToker^[1] @_jayylaurent posted a video that started with him sending back a drink at the McDonald's drive-thru as he says, "Oh, this too much ice, too much ice, too much ice. Get that back. That too much ice. Do not play with me, do not play with me. That's too much ice. I said 'light ice.'" Over four days, the video received over 123,100 likes (shown below).

On August 16th, X^[5] user @giawfreddy reposted the original video, captioning it, "If you are disrespectful to minimum wage workers, you’re an evil person," gaining over 44.8 million views and 85,000 likes in three days (shown below).

On August 17th, 2025, TikToker^[3] @daadisnacks posted a reaction video as well in which he criticized the TikToker. The video gained over 144,200 likes in two days (shown below).

Also on August 17th, TikToker^[4] @ijustclippedyouu posted a recording of a then-recent @_jayylaurent TikTok LIVE in which he repeated the catchphrase "Light on my ice" and reacted to someone saying he'd been reposted on X. The video received over 14,300 likes in two days (shown below).

On August 18th, 2025, TikToker^[6] @notglobal posted a POV skit about the "Light Ice" video, in which the worker retaliates by throwing the drink into the car. The video gained over 81,000 likes in a day (shown below).
