About
"Let's Go" Saweetie refers to a clip of rapper Saweetie from her performance at the New Years Eve 2021 Bud Light Seltzer Sessions where she says "let's go" into the microphone then turns and walks towards the back of the stage. The clip of her walking away became an exploitable on TikTok in September 2021 as users edited it into comedic scenarios that involve a subject going toward something else or going to do something.
Origin
On December 31st, 2020, Saweetie performed at the New Years Eve 2021 Bud Light Seltzer Sessions, a short concert series in celebration of the new year. The second song in her set is "Best Friend." Leading up to the opening lyrics, Saweetie removes a hat she was wearing as part of her wardrobe then says "let's go" into the microphone before turning around and walking to the back of the stage as part of her performance. The performance video, which is now unlisted, gained over 86,000 views on her YouTube[1] channel in nine months (shown below).
Around August 2021, a now-deleted TikToker uploaded an unknown video containing the audio from the clip of Saweetie saying "let's go" followed by the start of the song. The original sound became popular in skits where TikTokers[2][3] lip dup the "let's go" then act out a situation (examples from August 15th, 19th respectively shown below).
Spread
