About

Lady in the Tree refers to a series of viral TikTok videos showing a tree that has the shape of a woman encased in its roots, complete with hair draping off of the supposed woman's head. The lady in the tree was first posted to TikTok in October 2022 by @officialsamhiscock, who posted new videos of the tree over the following months, often as a response to comments theorizing about her being a tree spirit and making jokes about the supposed woman.

Origin

On October 10th, 2022, TikToker[1] @officialsamhiscock posted a video captioned "Lady in the tree 👻" where he records a tree that appears to have the shape of a woman with moss in her eyes in its above-ground roots.
