On August 16th, 2024, Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars released the single "Die With A Smile" on YouTube.[1] During the song's instrumental bridge, Gaga starts to dance slowly while spinning on the stage (seen below), inspiring the viral dance trend and amassing over 27 million views and 1.3 million likes weekly.

A day after the music video featuring the Lady Gaga dance was released, several creators started replicating the singer's movement in parody videos and comedy skits. For instance, on August 17th, 2024, TikTok[2] user @caramelsoprano posted a video doing the "Die With A Smile" dance, captioning it, "Gaga be like:" (seen below), which amassed over 3.9 million plays and 790,000 likes in a week.
On August 18th, 2024, X[3] user @CaRoLiNaPeAcE19 compared Katy Perry's Woman's World failed attempt to create a viral dance with Gaga's "Die With A Smile" dance becoming organically viral (seen below), which received roughly 2,900 likes and 180 reposts in a day.
