Lady Dimitrescu on the Phone refers to a viral image of Resident Evil Village character Lady Dimitrescu preparing to talk on the phone, with the character putting on an expression of tiredness mixed with suppressed anger. The image gained viral popularity in May 2021 and has been used as source material for various memes. In the following days, an image known as Streamer Lady Dimitrescu also gained popularity.
Origin
On May 18th, 2021, YouTube[1] user Ezzi posted a video of Resident Evil Village cutscenes featuring character Lady Dimitrescu and her daughters shown from angles other than the player experiences them during the game. The video (shown below) received over 256,000 views in one week.
At 6:22 mark, during the cutscene of a phone call between Lady Dimitrescu and Mother Miranda, Lady Dimitrescu can be seen pouting for a short moment before answering the call.
On May 22nd, Twitter[2] user @DullVivid posted four still images from the video, including a frame of Lady Dimitrescu pouting, appearing either tired or suppressing anger, with the images captioned, "when you have to work up the courage to make a phone call." The tweet (shown below) gained over 31,300 retweets and 145,700 likes in two days.

On May 23rd, Twitter[3] user @luulubuu used the still image of Lady Dimitrescu preparing to talk on the phone alongside an image of Devil May Cry 5 character Dante speaking on the phone, pairing the images with a humorous dialogue about Ligma. The post gained over 12,200 retweets and 56,600 likes in one day.
Starting on the same day, the image of Lady Dimitrescu gained viral popularity on Twitter, with users pairing it with images of characters from various franchises talking on phones and writing humorous dialogues. For example, on May 23rd, Twitter[4] user @OnTheDownLoTho posted a No, This Is Patrick meme that gained over 3,000 retweets and 15,300 likes in one day (shown below, left). On May 24th, Twitter[5] user @ModeratelyOkCos posted a meme that received over 3,300 retweets and 13,300 likes in one day (shown below, right).
