Lady Dimitrescu, also referred to as Tall Vampire Lady and Lady D, is a tall, pale female character in a wide-brimmed hat, who was revealed in the June 2020 announcement trailer of the video game Resident Evil Village. Following the release of a showcase for the game in January 2021, the character gained notable popularity online, with users hornyposting, posting memes and fan art.

Origin

On June 11th, 2020, the announcement trailer for then-upcoming survival horror video game Resident Evil Village was released^[1] (shown below, left). In the teaser, a very tall pale woman wearing a wide-brimmed hat is shown several times (video shown below). On January 14th, 2021, the teaser trailer for the game was released, with Lady Dimitrescu being featured.^[2]

The character has many vampire-esque characteristics, as she seeks to drink the blood of Ethan Winters. Her minions, which she calls her "daughters" have been fused with bugs.^[4]

On January 21st, 2021, the third trailer for Resident Evil Village was released.^[3]^[9] On the same day, a description for the character was made available on the official website,^[10] revealing the character's name, Alcina Dimitrescu.

On June 11th, 2020, Twitter^[5] user @alexdnz made a tweet referencing the Dick Flattening meme that received over 3,800 retweets and 14,800 likes in seven months (shown below).

The character gained larger popularity following the release of the January 2021 teaser. On January 14th, 2021, Twitter^[6] user @TheSphereHunter made a tweet about the character, highlighting that she appears to be extremely tall. The post (shown below) received over 4,100 retweets and 32,500 likes in one day.

Starting on January 14th, 2021, the character became a popular subject of hornyposting and memes on Twitter. For example, on that day Twitter^[7] user @KinoFabino made a post that received over 760 retweets and 4,400 likes in one day (shown below, left). On the same day, Twitter^[8] user @BitchAssBowie made a tweet comparing the images of the character to Lauren Phillips Lifting Alice Merchesi meme that received over 90 retweets and 1,300 likes in one day (shown below, right).

Prior to the name reveal, the character has been referred to as Tall Vampire Lady or Big Lady by the online community.

The release of the third trailer and the reveal of the character's name were followed by a surge in discussions about the character on social media.

Capcom Tweet

On February 1st, the official Twitter^[11] account for the Resident Evil franchise posted a message from the Resident Evil Village art director Tomonori Takano in which he confirmed that Lady Dimitrescu was over 2.9 meters (9'6'' feet) tall if the hat and the high heels are included into the count (message shown below).

Butt Posts

On April 2nd, 2021, IGN uploaded a five minute PlayStation 4 gameplay video of the game to YouTube.^[12] In one of the cutscenes revealed in the trailer, protagonist Ethan Winters is surreptitiously watching Lady Dimitrescu standing over the phone, briefly turning her buttocks turned towards the player.

On the same day, a still image of Lady Dimitrescu with her back towards the player gained viral popularity online, with users using reaction images to hornypost about the character's buttocks. Twitter^[13] user @Die_Knowing made the earliest found hornypost about Dimitrescu's buttocks, with the tweet gaining over 180 retweets and 900 likes in three days (shown below, left). Within one hour, Twitter^[14] user @luulubuu made a tweet that gained over 20,100 retweets and 155,200 likes in the same period (shown below, center).

In addition to memes and hornyposts, the new footage inspired fan art. For example, on April 3rd, 2021, artist Vale tweeted^[15] an artwork that gained over 7,100 retweets and 39,600 likes in two days (shown below, right).

Know Your Meme Interview

On June 14th, 2021, Know Your Meme posted an interview with actress Maggie Robertson, who did the voice and mocap acting for Lady Dimitrescu, to YouTube, gaining over 68,000 views in three years (shown below). We also published a written version of the interview.

So We Finally Meet

So We Finally Meet refers to a series of memes based on the ending of the demo version of the 2021 video game Resident Evil Village in which Lady Dimitrescu opens a double door in front of the player and proceeds to grab and stab them. Following the popularity of Lady Dimitrescu memes in January 2021, the scene became source material for humorous edits.

Lady Dimitrescu on the Phone refers to a viral image of Resident Evil Village character Lady Dimitrescu preparing to talk on the phone, with the character putting on an expression of tiredness mixed with suppressed anger. The image gained viral popularity in May 2021 and has been used as source material for various memes.
