About

Ladies, Imagine refers to a snowclone that grew popular on Twitter in May of 2018 parodying a tweet in which a woman imagined a scenario idyllic to her in which she's watching her husband and children participate in a baseball game. The parodies spread in a very similar manner to the It's 2028 parodies.

Origin

On May 20th, 2018, Twitter user @mallorii_alysee[1] tweeted:

LADIES imagine this, it’s 15 years from now--your son is up to bat, your husband is the hot 3rd base coach, your little girl is cheering on her big brother at the fence,&you are team mom, taking pics with a fancy camera,&keeping the scorebook
THAT WOULD BE LIVING MY BEST LIFE

The tweet gained over 36,000 retweets and 134,000 likes in two days (shown below).

Spread

The parodies began spreading two days after the original tweet, on the 22nd. Two of the most popular parodies were posted by @bvhammer, gaining over 18,000 retweets and 116,000 likes (shown below, left), and a tweet by @dubstep4dads that gained over 24,000 retweets and 115,000 likes (shown below, right).

A popular strand of the parodies reimagined the snowclone without men. Twitter user @innerpres made such a joke, gaining over 3,900 retweets and 23,000 likes (shown below, left). User @jennalinds turned the format into a parody of the film Mamma Mia!, gaining 870 retweets and 3,700 likes (shown below, right).

Teen Comes Out

On May 28th, 2018, teenage Twitter user @m_alexander19 used the format to come out as bisexual in a tweet that gained over 3,900 retweets and 48,000 likes (shown below).

The tweet led to an outpouring of support from other Twitter users who praised the creativity of the post (examples shown below). The moment was covered by Business Insider.[2]
