La Familia Simpson vs. La Familia de Peppa Pig, also known as Los Simpsons vs La Familia Peppa Pig, refers to the intro of an animated rap battle video in Spanish that pits The Simpsons family against the Peppa Pig family. The video was originally uploaded to YouTube in 2021, by the channel La Banana Roja. Starting in mid-2023, the video's intro was posted to TikTok in various moldy and low-quality reposts. Thereafter, many memes using the intro's audio surfaced on the platform, including photo slideshows.

Origin

On August 1st, 2021, YouTuber^[1] La Banana Roja uploaded a video called "Los Simpsons vs La Familia Peppa Pig – BATALLA DE RAP ANIMADA" in which The Simpsons family was pitted against the Peppa Pig family in an animated rap battle. The male narrator loudly stated in the video's intro, "La Familia Simpson vs. La Familia de Peppa Pig," as the camera panned between the two families (shown below). Over the course of two years, the video gained roughly 35.6 million views and 465,000 likes.

A few months later, on December 29th, 2021, YouTuber^[2] Marce uploaded a low-quality version of the video's intro, additionally making the video's audio low-quality. Over the course of a year and a half, the video gained roughly 67,000 views and 3,300 likes (shown below). It is currently the first-discovered, variant usage of the "La Familia Simpson vs. La Familia de Peppa Pig" video.

Going into early 2022, other videos using "La Familia Simpson vs. La Familia de Peppa Pig" surfaced on YouTube. For instance, on January 16th, 2022, YouTuber^[3] Nick Pepe posted an even lower quality version of the intro, gaining roughly 23,100 views and 920 likes in one year (shown below).

Also on January 16th, 2022, TikToker^[4] @khidergameplay posted a video that used the meme's audio but showed Minecraft objects made to reference both families, gaining roughly 2.3 million plays and 232,800 likes in one year (shown below, left). Others on TikTok^[5] and YouTube^[6] uploaded similar Minecraft-related videos. In late 2022, "La Familia Simpson vs. La Familia de Peppa Pig" resurfaced on TikTok, evident in a video posted by TikToker^[7] @samuelduartevillalba on November 25th, 2022, that gained roughly 301,600 plays and 20,600 likes in seven months (shown below, right).

On March 28th, 2023, TikToker^[8] @dubi_xd reposted a low-quality version of "La Familia Simpson vs. La Familia de Peppa Pig," gaining roughly 37,000 likes in three months. The TikTok^[9] sound of @dubi_xd's video soon gained usage from other creators who mostly posted photo slideshows with it.

For instance, on June 16th, 2023, TikToker^[10] @exoticbutterslovesnapoli posted a slideshow with screenshots from the original video, gaining roughly 1.9 million plays and 234,400 likes in nine days. On June 20th, TikToker^[11] @sachad69 posted a slideshow with families in low-quality Simpsons and Peppa Pig costumes, gaining roughly 539,900 plays and 46,300 likes in one week (screen recording, shown below).

More slideshows were posted to TikTok^[12] using the sound in June 2023, allowing the TikTok^[9] sound to amass over 7,000 posts using it in late June 2023.
