Kyomoto Shopping is an exploitable used in a series of green screen memes based on a scene from the anime film Look Back in which the character Kyomoto meets Fujino. As a meme, Kyomoto is edited into a store and is shown struggling not to make an impulse buy, but eventually makes the purchase after some deliberation. The earliest version of the meme was posted to TikTok in late December 2024 and was more widely popularized in January 2025. It is typically set to the song "Impacto" by Enjambre.

Origin

On June 28th, 2024, Look Back, an anime film based on a one-shot manga about two introverted girls named Kyomoto and Fujino who love drawing, was released in Japan. On November 8th, YouTuber^[1] itsuka stream uploaded the scene of the two girls meeting, garnering around 3,000 views in a month.

On December 21st, 2024, TikToker^[2] @hopefullydead258 posted a meme captioned, "me when they leave me alone in the alcohol section," using a green screen made up of clips from the scene to portray Kyomoto impulse-buying a bottle of Jack Daniels, garnering over 826,000 views in two weeks. The meme is set to the song "Impacto" by Enjambre.

On December 26th, 2024, TikToker^[3] @hopefullydead258 posted the green screen they used to make the original meme, garnering over 833,000 views in a week. On January 1st, 2025, TikToker^[4] @rinvawy posted a meme using the green screen in which Kyomoto buys manga, garnering over 518,000 views in two days.

On January 2nd, 2025, TikToker^[5] @toji_joestar posted a version of the meme in which Kyomoto buys a copy of The Last Of Us Part II, garnering over 478,000 views in a day.
