Kyle Hume's Song From the Perspective of Anxiety or "Hello My Name Is" refers to a viral video and song by TikToker Kyle Hume sung from the perspective of anxiety. Hume uploaded a video of himself singing the song in early December 2022 and it went viral as other users duetted and reacted to it, many calling it cringe, particularly for sounding derivative and basic. The video also inspired parody songs written from the perspective of various tragic events and conditions.
Origin
On December 12th, 2022, TikToker[1] and musician @Kyle_Hume posted a video showing off his unfinished song "Hello My Name Is." The song begins with Hume stepping toward the mic and saying, "So I had this idea for a song from the perspective of anxiety. Check this out," then singing the start of the song. The video gained over 1.4 million views in two weeks (shown below).

Later in December 2022, TikTokers began duetting and stitching reactions to the video to criticize it for being derivative of typical pop songs. On December 20th, music critic Anthony Fantano reacted to it negatively on TikTok[2], garnering over 350,000 views in a week (shown below, left). On December 21st, 2022, TikToker[3] @bweebish posted a video implying the song is a cookie cutter of other pop songs, gaining over 250,000 views in a week.
Some TikTokers posted their own parodies of the song, such as TikToker[4] @curlydaddy101 on December 22nd, singing a song from the perspective of war-induced PTSD, garnering over 107,000 views in six days (shown below, right).
On the same day, TikToker[5] @willuzi posted a video recreating Hume's with badly layered vocals, garnering over 89,900 views in six days (shown below).
