About
The King of GETs (often abbreviated to just "KoG") is an in-joke GET commonly associated with the number 5. The meme is specific to 4chan's /a/ board, although it has since migrated to other boards, such as /v/, /jp/, /b/, and /vp/.
Origin
The origin of the King of GETs can be dated back to November 24th, 2007, to a thread on 4chan's /a/ board. In that thread, a user posted an image of Yami Yugi from Yu-Gi-Oh! Season 0 and commented that if his post ends with 5, Masaki Andoh's sister dies. Over time, the image posted with this post became the most common image associated with the King of GETs.
Examples

Spread
The King of GETs has gotten countless posts that have ended in a 5, resulting in a massive explosion of GET threads on /a/ involving nothing but getting 5 GETs. This peaked around 2012 when King of GETs threads were so common on /a/ that the below image was used to describe them:
Alongside the standard Yami Yugi image, an image of Yami Yugi holding up a five of diamonds is also popular. However, that image is an edit. In the original show, the card was an ace of diamonds:
Whenever a poster wishes to show that he wants to start a thread involving GETs, all he needs to do is post a Yami Yugi image from Season 0 and have his post number end in 5. This would, in turn, start a "GET Game" to see how many others could have their posts end in 5. A popular alternative of this on /v/ is to wait until a thread reaches the bump limit. After that, one would start attempting as many 5 GETs as possible until the thread archives.
