Kevin James Posting refers to a social media trend of posting reaction images of actor Kevin James, which achieved virality on social media in September 2023. Started by a caption series based on an image of Kevin James Smirking, the meme trend gained virality similar to Kevin Hart Reaction Images earlier that year. As the trend progressed, The King of Queens co-star Leah Remini reacted to the memes.

Origin

On September 21st, 2023, X^[1] user @ChampagneAnyone posted a photograph of actor Kevin James on the set of The King of Queens holding his hands in his pockets, shrugging his shoulders and smirking, captioning it "me after 1 double rum and diet." The post (shown below) gained over 2,200 reposts and 24,200 likes in five days.

The post spawned the Kevin James Smirking viral trend on X that involved users posting the stock image with captions describing mischief and tomfoolery. For example, on September 23rd, 2023, X^[2] user @buckadeath posted a Bush Did 9/11 meme based on the format that received over 960 reposts and 10,300 likes in four days (shown below, left).

Starting on September 24th, more photographs of Kevin James, both from The King of Queens photoshoot and other sources, achieved viral popularity on X, similar to the Kevin Hart Reaction Images trend in February 2023. For example, on September 24th, X^[3] user @therapistLloyd posted a caption meme about borrowing a coworker's vape that received over 5,500 retweets and 49,300 likes in two days (shown below, right).

More photographs of the actor saw use on X as a part of the caption trend in late September 2023. For example, on September 25th, 2023, X^[4] user @talentharris posted a photograph of James with The King of Queens co-star Leah Remini captioned, "me and babe after the musiq soulchild concert." The post (shown below, left) received over 15,200 reposts and 60,200 likes in one day. Later that day, X^[5] user @JrayBerry quoted the post, writing, "Who decided Kevin James was gone be the center of memes this month??" The post (shown below, right) received over 16,600 reposts and 129,000 likes in one day.

The King Of Queens Co-Star Leah Remini Reacts

On September 26th, 2023, The King Of Queens co-star Leah Remini posted to X^[6] reacting to the memes. She wrote, "I wanted to let you all know I'm seeing all of The King of Queens memes and tweets and I absolutely love them. Thank you for 25 years of amazing memories!" gaining roughly 95,400 likes in one day (shown below).

The post gained reactions via replies, such as X^[7] user @notcapnamerica who asked, "But have you sent them to Kevin? 😂," receiving over 500 likes in one day. Remini's reaction also gained news coverage on the day of its upload.^[8]
