"Tik Tok" is a Dance-pop song^[1] by Singer Ke$ha^[2].Since it's original realease, it has been the subject of many parody videos on Youtube^[3], some of which have veiws in the millions.

Origin

"Tik Tok" was originally realeased on August 7th 2009. The song was generally praised by critics and was awarded 5× platinum^[4] for sales of over 5 million in the U.S. and sold 12.8 million copies worldwide in 2010 alone. It also broke the record for the biggest single-week sum for a female singer in the U.S, selling 610,000 digital downloads in a week.

In early 2010, British comedy group "The Midnight Beast"^[5] did a parody of the song, then realeased it on Itunes^[6] on January 15th of the same year.The song was a huge succes and spawned several parody videos afterwards.

One of the more succesful parody videos is Glitter Puke by Youtuber BarelyPolitical^[7] which has more than 90 million veiws.This video helped encourage more parody videos.
