Labubus became a viral meme and high-value collectible over the summer of 2025, prompting internet users to joke about what Karl Marx's reaction to things like the Labubu Matcha Dubai Chocolate trends would be, given his famous critiques of capitalism and consumerism. In late June 2025, TikToker @natbritt0 posted a video showing her leaving a Labubu doll amongst the various trinkets placed on Karl Marx's grave in England's Highgate Cemetery. In July 2025, TikToker @unequivocallyso posted a 24 Karat Gold La Bew Bew parody, showing off a DIY Karl Marx Labubu. In late July 2025, memes about Labubus being left on Karl Marx's grave and tomb continued to spread online.

On June 29th, 2025, TikToker[1] @natbritt0 posted a video leaving a Labubu toy on German philosopher and revolutionary socialist thinker Karl Marx's grave in North London's Highgate Cemetery. The toy was placed among several trinkets and letters, with the video gathering over 4.3 million plays and 600,000 likes in a month.

On July 9th, 2025, TikToker[3] @presidentialblacktruck posted a meme showing Karl Marx dancing alongside text that read, "Karl Marx coming back from the dead just to try a dubai chocolate 24k gold Labubu from crumbl cookie and realize he was wrong about endless consumption." The post gathered over 2 million plays and 300,000 likes in two weeks.

On July 11th, X[2] user @MegatenSenshi posted a Ren & Stimpy Wake Up Scene meme in response to a tweet about the Labubu Matcha Dubai Chocolate trend, writing, "Karl Marx on his deathbed when he realizes he forgot to account for Labubu and Matcha." The post gathered over 18,000 likes in two weeks.



On July 16th, TikToker[4] @unequivocallyso posted a 24 Karat Gold La Bew Bew parody showing a "Labubu" she made in Karl Marx's likeness. The post gathered over 600,000 plays and 150,000 likes in a week.

On July 20th, 2025, X[5] user @Uaitniu tweeted an image of Karl Marx's tomb and a letter left there by a Chinese student. Other internet users took note of a Labubu toy resting by the foot of Karl Marx's bust, and posted jokes about the irony of a sign of overconsumerism being placed with its most famous critique.

On July 21st, X[6] user @helen tweeted, "the concept of knowing there is currently a labubu on karl marx's grave," gathering over 200,000 likes in four days.



On July 24th, 2025, X[7] user @MistaSogward reposted an Ashton Hall Throwing His Video Game Controller meme with Karl Marx edited into it using Viggle AI, gathering over 12,000 likes in a day.
