Kanye West's Robert Kardashian Hologram refers to a hologram of Robert Kardashian, Kim Kardashian's late father, created by her husband, Kanye West, for her 40th birthday. After Kim posted a video of the hologram to social media, social media users expressed how they found it either creepy or sweet. Others parodied the text of Kim's tweet and added humorous photos.
Origin
On October 29th, 2020, Kim Kardashian[1] posted a video in which a holographic version of her father Robert offers her well wishes in honor of her 40th birthday. The hologram was the idea of Kanye West. "For my birthday, Kanye got me the most thoughtful gift of a lifetime. A special surprise from heaven. A hologram of my dad. It is so lifelike! We watched it over and over, filled with emotion," she tweeted, gaining over 13,000 retweets, 29,000 quote tweets, and 168,000 likes in less than 24 hours (shown below).

The video drew a mixed response from commenters, with some feeling it was creepy and others feeling it was sweet. User @zei_squirrel[2] was in the former category, tweeting "this is the creepiest shit I have ever seen holy fuck. rich people are sociopaths who need to have their wealth expropriated from them for their own good if nothing else," gaining over 140 retweets and 1,600 likes (shown below, left). User @dbcxptures[3] said he found the gift sweet, tweeting, "I think this is the greatest, most thoughtful gift you could ever get someone," gaining over 200 retweets and 920 likes (shown below, right).

Twitter users also turned Kim's tweet into a copypasta, adding humorous images to her text. For example, @coolabedfilms[4] tweeted stills from Community in which Chevy Chase appears as a hologram, gaining over 750 retweets and 3,900 likes (shown below, left). User @lordsoftheseth[5] tweeted a still from Star Wars, gaining over 90 retweets and 620 likes (shown below, right). These jokes were covered by the Daily Dot.[6]
