On March 31st, 2020, Twitter [1] user @izzyhollandx tweeted a photograph of a mansion that Bieber rented in 2015.[2] They captioned the post, "JUATIN BIEBER’S HOUSE….I HAVE NEVER SEEN A HOUSE UGLIER." The tweet received more than 27,000 likes and 2,900 retweets in less than one week (shown below).

Following the post, others on Twitter began sharing other jokes about the house's appearance. For example, on April 5th, Twitter[3] user @nuns_on_film tweeted, "Justin Bieber's house looks like if Amazon made a community college." The tweet received more than 44,000 likes and 2,200 retweets in less than two days (shown below, left). The following day, Redditor [4] sunnisheye shared the tweet on the /r/rareinsults subreddit.

The popularity of the tweet led to even more spread of the meme. Over the next few hours, others shared jokes. Twitter[5] user @J_Bloodworth tweeted, "Justin Bieber’s house looks like a New Labour-era college campus built on PFI money." The tweet received more than 9,000 likes and 890 retweets in less than 24 hours (shown below, center). Twitter[6] user @OsitaNwanevu tweeted, "Why did Justin Bieber live in the research center of a SimCity expansion pack?" The tweet received more than 21,000 likes and 2,000 retweets in less than 24 hours (shown below, right).

On April 6th, 2020, Paper[7] magazine covered the meme.
