Just One More, also known as The Lies I Tell Myself, refers to an exploitable image macro series which lists "lies" one tells themselves, such as "just one more" piece of chocolate or "just one more" episode of a show on Netflix. In exploitable variations, the final lie is a humorous lie pertaining to a certain subculture.
Origin
The initial image was posted on I Waste So Much Time roughly around January 30th, 2015.[1] The first version ended with the lie "just five more minutes" (shown below).
Spread
Exploitable variations began appearing in the following year. A version pertaining to the Roman Empire was uploaded to MemeCenter[2] on September 3rd, 2015. A variation pertaining to The Crusades was uploaded to Memedroid on September 8th, 2016.
Variations continued to appear over the following years. For example, Facebook page If Ye Love Memes[3] uploaded a variation that gained over 910 likes and reactions on August 20th, 2017. On January 28th, 2018, a post in /r/LateStageCapitalism[4] made a joke about America, gaining over 1,000 upvotes (shown below, right).
