The Juice Emoji 🧃 or Juice Box Emoji, also known as the Beverage Box Emoji, is a Unicode Emoji of a green juice box with a white and red-striped straw. The Emoji was added as part of 2019's Unicode 12.0 update. In the 2020s, the Emoji became increasingly popularized as an antisemitic dog whistle and form of algospeak meaning "Jews" or "Jewish" due to the similarities in the words "juice" and "Jews." In this context, the Emoji is often used to share negative opinions on Jewish people. In October 2025, it was reported that the Juice Emoji was being censored on TikTok due to its use as a replacement for "Jews" in derogatory content.

The Juice Emoji, or Beverage Box Emoji, was added as an official Unicode Emoji on March 5th, 2019, with the Emoji 12.0 update.^[1][2] The Emoji is depicted as a green juice box with a white straw with a red stripe and an apple or a bundle of fruit on the front.

Use As Algospeak / Antisemitic Dog Whistle

Throughout the 2020s, the juice Emoji became increasingly popularized as a coded way of referring to Jewish people, usually in a negative context. This is because of the similarities in sound between "juice" and "Jews," a common joke that has been made for decades.

Examples of mixing up "Jews" and "juice" can be found online since as early as 2008, with one example being a photo posted to the /r/pics^[3] subreddit of a man holding a sign that reads "death to all juice" that gained over 400 upvotes in 17 years.

It is unclear who first used the Juice Emoji as a stand-in for "Jews." This context for the Emoji is prevalent across social media platforms, including TikTok, Twitch livestream chats, X / Twitter and more.

On July 8th, 2025, the ADL^[4] called out the coded use of the Juice Emoji in an article titled, "Coded Hate: Extremists Weaponize Seemingly Innocuous Content to Promote Bigotry."

On July 31st, Redditor u/Prestigious-Lynx5750 made a post to the /r/NoStupidQuestions^[5] subreddit asking, "What does 🧃 mean?" and if it's a dog whistle, garnering over 500 upvotes in three months.

The top-voted reply from Redditor MisterSlosh read:

"The Juice" has been such a common wordplay on "The Jews" that it's been inserted as a bit into common media like Family Guy, South Park, and other parody comedies for decades.

Juice Emoji Censorship

On September 30th, 2025, X^[6] user @RedPillMediaX claimed that TikTok was purportedly censoring and banning the use of the Juice Emoji, purportedly due to its use as a dog whistle.

The post, which gained over 61,000 likes in a day, reads, "Since Jewish billionaires took control of TikTok, the Juice emoji has officially been BANNED." The post includes a screenshot of a comment violation warning from TikTok claiming that the use of the Emoji, in the case of the shown ban, was prohibited as an alcohol reference.

News of the purported censorship spread online quickly and was shared by users, including the @AFpost X^[7] account, garnering over 20,000 likes in a day.

This news inspired backlash from some, who began posting the Emoji online in protest. For example, on October 1st, X^[8] user @SZade15 posted an image of the Emoji, writing, "This emoji just got banned on TikTok. My God, how fragile and insecure can they get? 😂" garnering over 40,000 likes in under a day.

That same day, X^[9] user @RedPillMediaX posted, "Since they banned 🧃 we can start using 🪁 What are they gonna do? Ban every emoji? 🤣" garnering over 20,000 likes in under a day. The post suggests that "kite" sounds like the Jewish "K-slur."

Also on October 1st, 2025, X^[10] user @Antunes1 posted, "Retweet to scare a 🧃," sharing an image of the Emoji, garnering over 6,000 likes in about four hours.
