On February 26th, 2018, Jon Stewart and several other famous comedians attended a basketball game between the Golden State Warriors and the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York. During the game, Warriors player Javale McGee hit a desperation fadeaway jump shot. The camera then panned to Stewart, sitting in the front row, held his head in his hands in disbelief.

Once the moment was posted to Twitter, users joked about Stewart's reaction of disappointment. Many users joked that Stewart's reaction was emblematic of most Knicks fans' reactions to the team's losing 2017-2018 season.
